Info: Haas Gallery, an artist-owned gallery and working studio, is a continuous exhibition of Gordon Haas, an American Impressionist. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Haas has successfully operated Haas Gallery since 1983 in Lambertville, NJ showcasing his own original artwork.
Offering Original Oils and Limited Edition Giclee Prints, Haas Is well known for his landscapes of Bucks County PA, Italy and France, as well as Rowing and Sculling scenes. Commissions are available. |

I have always had a strong appreciation for photography and nature. I love to explore and discover, and I love the challenge of capturing it on film so that others may also enjoy it. Through my photography I hope to share my love of nature and offer the viewer a glimpse into a place that is peaceful, serene and sometimes surprising.
I love the emotional, timeless quality of Black and White photography and the surreal dream like images created with infrared. I compose images using light and perspective to evoke emotion and encourage the viewer to slow down and focus on the often overlooked details in everyday objects.
My current work focuses on rural central New Jersey and East Central Pennsylvania. Trees in particular are a favorite subject. For years I used photography only as an aid. A way to capture reference photos for my graphite pencil drawings. As my youngest daughter grew I found it more and more difficult to find time for my drawing and began to turn back to my love of photography to fulfill my need to express and create. Now instead of spending late night hours alone at my drafting table , I spend days outside exploring the countryside with my children. Through my photography I hope to inspire others to slow down and appreciate the beauty that is all around us and to help to preserve our natural and wild places. |

Artist Gordon Haas’ Impressionist Views
Of the Amalfi Coast, Italy
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ - Lambertville artist, Gordon Haas, has recently returned from a six-week plein-air oil painting trip to the Amalfi Coast of Italy. The paintings will be available for viewing and purchase at Haas Gallery starting June 9th, 2007.
Best known for his impressionistic landscapes, Gordon has been drawn to Italy, where he spent this spring exploring the Amalfi Coast region and capturing the beauty of the coastal town of Positano. With its dramatic cliffs and tranquil Mediterranean waters, Gordon is anxious to share this new view of a part of Italy that he now adores.
A 1984 graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Gordon has successfully operated Haas Gallery in Lambertville, NJ, his working studio and gallery, for the past 14 years. Offering limited edition giclee prints, as well as original oil paintings, Gordon has truly found his niche in this well-known artist village.
